The Ducks strapped for healthy defensemen, acquired 16-year veteran Eric Brewer from the Lightning on Friday in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2015 draft, according to an ESPN.com report.

The Sharks have traded defenseman Jason Demers and a future draft pick to the Stars for defenseman Brenden Diillon.
The Stars will get a third-round pick in the 2016 draft in Friday's deal.
The 24-year-old Dillon has nine goals and 17 assists in 149 career games with Dallas.
The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired left wing Rene Bourque from the Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Bryan Allen.
Bourque, 32, has appeared in 573 career NHL games with Montreal, Calgary and Chicago, collecting 278 points with 474 penalty minutes. The wing has also played 27 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Montreal and Calgary, scoring 15 points.
Allen, 34, has scored 135 points with 837 PIM in 716 career NHL games with Anaheim, Carolina, Florida and Vancouver. Signed as a free agent by Anaheim on July 1, 2012, Allen collected 17 points with a +21 rating and 113 PIM in 115 games as a Duck.
The Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from the Blues in an effort to shore up their defensive corps after announcing Saturday that Fedor Tyutin will miss the next four to six weeks with a knee sprain.
Tyutin, who was placed on injured reserve, sprained the knee Friday in Philadelphia.
